About the Studio

It’s a creative escape.  A happy, cozy environment that provides a figurative “deep breath,” a little break from the routine and busy-ness of everyday life.  It’s a purposefully bright and colorful space, full of great art & craft supplies that hold the possibility of bringing back a little of the fun and wonder and creativity and whimsy that sadly many people left behind after their school years.  I hear many people say “my daughter (or granddaughter) is really creative” or “I used to do some of that stuff by I don’t have time anymore.”  But creative play time isn’t just for kids!  The benefits of creative play time are well-documented and far reaching, and just as relevant for adults.  I’ve found that when I make time for crafting, it makes me more creative in other areas of my life as well, opening my mind to new ideas with regards to my work and home life as well.  I believe that EVERYONE is creative – it’s a natural trait bestowed upon all of us, not a capability reserved for a talented minority – it just takes some intentional time and space and practice to bring it to the forefront.

And the personal connections that can be made while crafting are inspiring as well.  The studio space is intentionally cozy, situated around shared tables to make conversation easy.  I love to see people engaged in a creative project and making new friends (or deepening existing friendships) at the same time.  The open idea sharing that happens is amazing, as people naturally want to help each other and offer up ideas based on their knowledge/experience.  I love that we can all learn from each other!
